Help
Short answers for grown-ups. The bear works without an account, so most of this is only about signing in.
I did not get my sign-in code or link
- Look in your spam or junk folder. The email comes from [email protected] and has your code in its subject.
- Check the address you typed. A small slip sends the code somewhere else.
- The email carries a six-digit code and a link. Type the code on the phone or tablet you are signing in on, or tap the link on the device you are reading it on. Either one works once, and both last 15 minutes.
- If the code did not work, ask for a new one in the app. Each code allows five wrong tries, and a new request gives a fresh code.
- Each address can ask for a few codes an hour. If you have asked several times, wait about an hour and try once more.
I lost a tablet or phone
- On another device, open Settings, then Account and devices. Press Sign out beside the lost device, or Sign out everywhere. That device then needs a new emailed code to get back in.
- The grown-up PIN keeps small hands out of Settings on a device that is still around. It is not a lock on your account, which the emailed code protects.
- Nothing about a child is on our servers. The sticker book, bear buddies, special days and the place stay on the device, and we hold your email, your settings and your device names.
I forgot my grown-up PIN
On the PIN pad, press Forgot it? We email a code to your account address. Type it in, and the PIN is cleared. You then choose a new one. This is for families with an account. Without an account there is no PIN, only a three-second press to open Settings.
How do I get my data, or delete my account?
- Open Settings, then Privacy and data. Download my data gives you a file with your account email, your settings, your devices and your email choices. Nothing about your child.
- Delete my account is on the same page. It asks you to hold a button, then to say yes. It removes your account, devices and email choices from our servers. Stickers and bear buddies on your device stay.
- Deleting your account also removes Plus from it, and a new account starts without Plus. The payment itself stays in Stripe’s records.
- You can also write to us at [email protected].
Refunds
Plus is one payment. There is no subscription and it never renews. If you change your mind, write to [email protected] within 14 days and we will refund you in full. Stripe takes the payment on its own page, so we never see your card.
What does the app keep?
Very little. Settings, then Privacy and data, has a short card called What Wear Bear holds, and the privacy policy has the full version.
Who do I write to?
The Wear Bear, [email protected].
